Baseball Recap: Palatka Comes Up Short

Palatka was the 1-0 winner over Ridgeview when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Palatka took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgeview on Wednesday. Palatka has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mason Malloy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run was his first of the season. Paxton Sweat was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Palatka's record is now 4-6. As for Ridgeview, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palatka will challenge Keystone Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keystone Heights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Palatka's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridgeview, they will take on Christ's Church Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
