Football Recap: Lowndes Falls Short Against Ranked Valdosta

Lowndes faced Valdosta in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings took a 23-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The contest marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Lowndes lost, don't look at Jayce Johnson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tyrieke Wade had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 201 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 56 yards for Valdosta. Wade is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Lowndes fell to 9-1. As for Valdosta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.
