 It was a good run, but  the Chopticon Braves unfortunately witnessed the end of their  three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of Great Mills by a score of  57-54. Chopticon has struggled against Great Mills recently, as their  game on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 Chopticon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jordan Pernell, who  scored 15 points along with three  steals. Pernell hasn't dropped below two  steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was  Brian McMahon, who  scored 18 points.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Mills to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Jermaine Davis, who  scored 11 points along with two  steals. Davis is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last four games he's  played.  DeAndre Dorsey was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points along with five  rebounds.
 Chopticon's defeat  ended  an  eight-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 13-8. As for Great Mills, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record  this season.
 Chopticon will head out on the road to  square off against  Thomas Stone at 5:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Thomas Stone knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Chopticon likes a good challenge. As for Great Mills, they will look to defend their home court  on Friday against Leonardtown at 6:30  p.m. One thing working in Leonardtown's favor is that they have posted big  point totals  in their last four matchups.
