Football Recap: Sky View Takes a Loss

After flying high against Deseret Peak last Friday, Sky View came back down to earth. The Bobcats and the Stansbury Stallions were almost perfectly matched up on Thursday, but the Bobcats suffered a 47-46 defeat. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stallions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2020.

Despite the loss, Sky View still got an impressive performance from Jack Clark, who threw for 387 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in three scores on the ground. With that strong performance, Clark is now averaging an impressive 305.6 passing yards per game. Sky View's leading receiver Zachary Oxborrow was Clark's top target yet again, picking up 201 receiving yards and one TD.

Brighton Reutzel produced another solid performance throwing for 314 yards and five touchdowns, while also rushing for 30 yards and one score for Stansbury. That's the most passing touchdowns Reutzel has posted since back in August.

Sky View's record is now 5-4. As for Stansbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sky View is set to challenge their familiar foe Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Stansbury will take on rival Deseret Peak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
