Volleyball Recap: Marina Comes Up Short

Marina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Newport Harbor Sailors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sailors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Marina ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, 25-18.

Marina's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Newport Harbor, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marina is set to square off against their familiar foe Los Alamitos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Newport Harbor will take on rival Huntington Beach at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
