Basketball Recap: Michigan City's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crown Point, Michigan City was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They secured a 42-38 W over the River Forest Ingots. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.

Paulecia Isom was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 5 of 10 on her way to 20 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Divine Woods, who posted ten points.

Despite the defeat, River Forest had strong showings from Gracelyn Cordero, who had four points, and D?Yanna Hurn, who put up 11 points and six rebounds. Cordero also put up an assist, which washer first of the season.

Michigan City's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13. As for River Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Michigan City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-29 defeat against Valparaiso on the 17th. As for River Forest, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Trinity Greenlawn at 12:30 p.m.
