Meyersdale gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Curwensville Golden Tide with points to spare, taking the game 37-19. The win continues a trend for the Red Raiders in their matchups with the Golden Tide: they've now won three in a row.

Meyersdale can attribute much of their success to Spencer Whitfield, who rushed for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

When it comes to explaining why Curwensville lost, don't look at Brady Dunn. Despite the final result, he rushed for 131 yards and one TD while picking up 8.2 yards per carry.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meyersdale will host Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Curwensville, they will be playing at home against Windber at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
