Softball Recap: Milano Has No Trouble Against Snook

Milano's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Snook Bluejays with a sharp 14-3 victory. Considering the Eagles have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Karley Hairston was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Marissa Balderas was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Rayelee Keen, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Milano always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Snook only posted an OBP of .238.

Milano now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Snook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12-1 record this season.

When Milano and Snook next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Milano will try to stop Mumford's four-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Milano is on a four-game streak of home wins, Mumford a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Snook will take on Sacred Heart and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
