Volleyball Recap: Padua Franciscan Falls Short of Aurora in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Padua Franciscan can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Aurora Greenmen on Thursday. The Bruins' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 25-21.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lilly Kichurchak, who had four aces and three digs. Amber Zver also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Emerson Spiesz had a dynamite game For Aurora., getting 28 digs and three aces. What's more, Spiesz racked up nine assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Padua Franciscan's defeat dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Aurora, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

Padua Franciscan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Aurora, after both having extra time off, they and Kenston will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
