Basketball Recap: Lennard Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Lennard Longhorns took a blow against the Gaither Cowboys, falling 45-15.

Carolyn Emanuel was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Russell, who posted nine points along with seven steals and six boards.

Lennard dropped their record down to 6-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Gaither, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Lennard will square off against Freedom at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lennard is facing Freedom at the right time seeing as Freedom is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Gaither, they will challenge Durant at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gaither is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
