Football Recap: Boswell Sets Scoring Season-High Against Mansfield Legacy

Boswell scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mansfield Legacy Broncos. The Pioneers lost against the Broncos in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 42-7 score last time.

Boswell lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Djmarques Vigil, who rushed for 134 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 183 yards and one TD. Chance Lassiter was another key player, gaining 111 total yards.

J-Uan Harrison Jr. produced another solid effort rushing for 204 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 79 receiving yards and one TD for Mansfield Legacy. Harrison Jr. was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Dandre Thomas did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards.

Boswell has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Mansfield Legacy, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Boswell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Crowley at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Pioneers will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Mansfield Legacy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-10 defeat against Mansfield on the 17th.
