Basketball Game Preview: Hinsdale Central Red Devils vs. Oak Lawn Spartans

The Hinsdale Central Red Devils and the Oak Lawn Spartans will compete for holiday cheer at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hinsdale Central got their first taste of in-conference action on Thursday and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 victory over Downers Grove North. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Oak Lawn strolled past Lindblom with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 74-58. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Eagles are ranked 341st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hinsdale Central's record now sits at 3-5. As for Oak Lawn, their record is now 7-2.

Hinsdale Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Oak Lawn when the teams last played back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 69-64 victory.
