Basketball Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 58-51 to the Rossview Hawks. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hawks earlier this season, when they won 52-49.

Rossview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Deal, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Deal a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Piekielko, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Rossview, they pushed their record up to 8-17 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-65 defeat against West Creek on the 14th. As for Rossview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-57 loss against Northwest on the 14th.
