Baseball Recap: Kenowa Hills Comes Up Short

If Kenowa Hills was riding high fresh off their 8-2 takedown of Coopersville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Broncos earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

Kenowa Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Peebles, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Kenowa Hills has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7-1 record this season. As for Coopersville, they pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Kenowa Hills and Coopersville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Knights will square off against Grand Haven at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (52 vs. 319). Meanwhile, Coopersville (ranked seventh) will meet Wayland (ranked 209th) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
