Recap: Guilford Home Educators Heat vs. Surry HomeSchool Runnin' Patriots
The Guilford Home Educators Heat scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Surry HomeSchool 88-51 on the road. With Guilford Home Educators ahead 51-28 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Surry HomeSchool's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Spence and Isaiah Mauser. Spence dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Mauser scored 17 points along with three steals. Spence has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Hayden Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 11 rebounds.
The win (which was Guilford Home Educators' third in a row) raised their record to 8-10. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.7 points. As for Surry HomeSchool, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Guilford Home Educators will take on the Royals at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Burlington Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Heat in North Carolina (the Royals are ranked 97th, while the Heat are ranked 493rd). As for Surry HomeSchool, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Conquerors at 7:30 p.m. Southview Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
