Recap: Maclay Marauders vs. Lincoln Trojans
The Maclay Marauders lost against the Lincoln Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Maclay was dealt a 75-36 defeat at the hands of Lincoln.
Maclay's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lauren Guyer, who scored 11 points. Guyer scored a full 30.6% of Maclay's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Journey Kramer, who scored 7 points.
Lincoln's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamiya Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Dickey, who scored 19 points along with 6 steals and 5 rebounds.
Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
Maclay will head out on the road to face off against FAMU DRS at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chiles will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Lincoln is ranked 166th).
