Baseball Recap: Nichols Wins Going Away Against Kenmore West

Nichols won the last time they faced Kenmore West and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings blew past the Blue Devils 11-3. The matchup marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season so far.

Nichols let Trenton Ruffolo and Kasey Kohler run wild. Ruffolo went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Kohler got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ruffolo is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Caidon Evancho also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Nichols always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Nichols now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kenmore West, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Nichols will square off against Akron at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kenmore West, they will take on Cardinal O'Hara at 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
