Soccer Game Preview: Lamar Consolidated vs. Bay City

The Lamar Consolidated Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Bay City Blackcats at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lamar Consolidated's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lamar Consolidated's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged El Campo out 1-0. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Bay City hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They and Stafford finished up their game with a 0-0 draw. The Blackcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Lamar Consolidated now has a winning record of 3-2-3. With that draw, Bay City's record moves to 8-0-2.

Lamar Consolidated came up short against Bay City in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Lamar Consolidated avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
