Softball Recap: Sleepy Hollow Horsemen vs. Port Chester Rams
Sleepy Hollow had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Port Chester Rams 29-12. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
For Port Chester's part, Tabby Sanchez and Tamara Correia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanchez scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Correia scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Fiona Lovallo was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Port Chester are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
Sleepy Hollow will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Port Chester at 1:00 p.m. Port Chester will take on East Ramapo [Ramapo/Spring Valley] at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
