The Northwest Mounties will take on the Napoleon Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
If Northwest beats Napoleon with eight runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Mounties beat Marshall on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mounties.
Lucy Bivens (2025) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ari Good (2025), who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Ava Golightly (2025) was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Napoleon never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Addison 17-0. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.
Hayden Rendall was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Gamez, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Napoleon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Addison only posted an OBP of .053.
Northwest pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Napoleon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
Northwest came up short against Napoleon when the teams last played back in April of 2017, falling 4-0. Will the Mounties have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
