Volleyball Game Preview: Grant Pacers vs. Whitney Wildcats

The Grant Pacers will venture away from home to challenge the Whitney Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Grant sitting on ten straight wins and Whitney on three.

Grant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Merced.

Grant had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-17, 27-25, 25-18.

Grant can attribute much of their success to Eason Lor, who had 23 assists and six digs, and Logan Her, who had 11 digs and two assists. Lor is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Whitney challenged Golden Valley on Wednesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win.

Whitney was especially dominant in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-12.

Whitney's win came from a few key players Grant will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gavin Roeker, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces he has posted since back in March. Muhe Chang also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Whitney was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only served five aces.

Grant pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Whitney, their record now sits at 15-19.
