League recap: Fleming breaks off league-leading run for Milby

4A Region III District 21 recap October 29, 2013

Moses Fleming of Milby ran for the longest rushing play in 4A Region III District 21 this season against Austin last week. Fleming ran for 94 yards on the play and finished with 186 on the day as his team beat the Mustangs.

Wheatley moved up to 897 from 953 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping Waltrip 48-26.

Reagan's dynamic duo of Eric Duran and Byron Washington proved to be unstoppable against Lee, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Duran threw for 131 yards and 1 touchdown and Washington had 78 yards receiving. Malcolm LaFleur helped Reagan's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.

Fleming was a passing and rushing force as Milby topped Austin. Fleming's favorite target this week was Joseph Salazar, who caught 2 passes for 45 yards.

Philip Camp's team's Camreyon Jackson and Everick Austin led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Jackson has thrown for 1,709 yards this season, while Austin has 38 catches for 669 yards. Tavon Dodd from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 737 yards.

An important game coming up in 4A Region III District 21 this week will be when Reagan takes on the Rams. At the moment, Stephen Dixon's team is in first, while Waltrip is in fifth.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Bulldogs take on Milton Dailey's team. Reagan has allowed 112 points this season, while the Rams have given up 136. The Bulldogs allowed 0 points last week as they defeated the Generals.

Reagan added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Lee, 59-0. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Bulldogs.
