Basketball Recap: Israel Paul Key Part of a Team Effort in the Mighty Oaks Win

On Thursday, the Oaks The Mighty Oaks rang in the new year with a 59-50 win over the Crenshaw Christian Academy Cougars. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the The Mighty Oaks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oaks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Israel Paul, who posted 20 points. Joey Allen was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Oaks has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Oaks will face off against Lakeside School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oaks is facing Lakeside School at the right time seeing as Lakeside School is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Crenshaw Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 33-31 victory against Sparta Academy on the 3rd.
