Recap: Lyons Lions vs. Hesston Swathers

The Lyons Lions won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a serious blow against Hesston, falling 78-32. While losing is never fun, Lyons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Hesston is ranked 20th).

It was another big night for Reed Friesen, who scored 30 points along with three steals for Hesston. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Friesen has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Hernandez, who scored ten points.

Lyons bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hesston, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Lyons will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Larned on Tuesday. As for Hesston, they will head out on the road to challenge Riley County on Tuesday. Riley County has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
