Basketball Recap: Bexley Comes Up Short

Bexley was the 47-42 winner over Hamilton Township when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Bexley Lions received a blow on Saturday as they fell 60-41 to the Hamilton Township Rangers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Rangers are ranked 27th).

Leading Hamilton Township to victory were Jovon McBride and Lucas King. McBride went 7 of 17 en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals, while King dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. The matchup was McBride's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Norton, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Bexley's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Hamilton Township, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Bexley will head out to face off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hamilton Township, they will take on Bishop Hartley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton Township is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.5 points per game this season.
