Payton Calhoun was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 19 batters over ten innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off 14 hits (and only one walk). Calhoun was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-6.

Woodland pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wadley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Woodland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .493. However, it's not like Wadley struggles in that department as they've averaged .480. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Woodland's way against Wadley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Woodland made off with a 10-2 victory. Will Woodland repeat their success, or does Wadley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
