Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Strafford's Winning Streak

After a string of six wins, Strafford's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Eldon Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Strafford sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 21-25, 25-23.

Strafford lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lydia Goodin, who had 11 digs and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynne Lumley, who had 13 digs and three assists.

Strafford's defeat dropped their record down to 26-4-2. As for Eldon, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-9.

Coming up, Strafford will head out to face off against Clever at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eldon has already played their next contest (against Smith-Cotton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
