Game recap: Williamstown High School Football Team tops Cherokee

WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter, Williamstown (N.J.) held on for a 13-10 victory over Cherokee (Marlton, N.J.) on Saturday. The difference for the Braves was that John Chamberlin ran for a touchdown.

After nabbing the lead on a touchdown pass by Zach Andes, the Chiefs went into halftime with a 10-6 lead. The Braves scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Chamberlin that came in the fourth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, Williamstown still trailed by four points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped WHS pull out the victory.

Cherokee's lone touchdown came on a 7-yard pass in the first quarter.



Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 35-24 win for the Braves.

The defeat comes as a step back for Cherokee, which notched a 38-6 victory over Triton in its previous outing. The loss broke Cherokee's two-game winning streak. With the win Williamstown extended its winning streak to three games.
