Softball Recap: Alonso Comes Up Short

Alonso had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 9-6 to the Wharton Wildcats. The Ravens haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Leah Hernandez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Sophia Gunnin was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alonso will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Plant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wharton, they will face off against Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
