Basketball Recap: Kayleena Kraemer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pueblo South over Pueblo Central

Pueblo South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 34-15 to the Pueblo Central Wildcats. The Colts were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kayleena Kraemer, who posted four points. Ana Espinoza also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Pueblo Central can attribute much of their success to Rosalia Martinez, who scored eight points.

Pueblo South's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Pueblo Central, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.

Pueblo South won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pueblo East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pueblo East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season. As for Pueblo Central, they will head out to take on Pueblo County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
