Recap: Port Charlotte Pirates vs. Braden River Pirates

The Port Charlotte Pirates and the Braden River Pirates squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Port Charlotte Pirates had to settle for second. The match between them and the Pirates wasn't particularly close, with the Pirates falling 68-51. Port Charlotte just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.

Leading Braden River to victory were Dudache Belony and Marcus Schade. Belony scored 15 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Schade scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Schade posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Deven Womack, who scored 12 points.

Port Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Braden River, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Port Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Braden River, they will square off against Seminole at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
