Football Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. Central Bears

Hernando has gone 6-1 against Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Leopards will be playing at home against the Bears at 7:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Friday, Hernando ended up a good deal behind Springstead and lost 23-6. The Leopards haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hernando didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Williams and Waylon Williamson. Hernando got some further help from Carlon Arnold: he made 14 total tackles (4.5 for loss).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-6, which was the final score in Central's tilt against Umatilla on Friday.

Even if they lost, Central's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Terrell Burton.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hernando has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Everything came up roses for Hernando against Central in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-7 win. Will the Leopards repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
