Baseball Game Preview: Southwest Dragons vs. Jay Mustangs

The Southwest Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Jay Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Jay's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Southwest's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Alamo Heights hitters got past them. Southwest lost 12-3 to Alamo Heights on Friday. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Romeo Castillo, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Joe Enriquez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Jay didn't have quite enough to beat McCollum on Friday and fell 9-7.

Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 11-4-1. As for Jay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Southwest took their victory against Jay in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
