Basketball Recap: Evangel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Evangel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Huntington Raiders 78-19. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Huntington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Qu'Manni Taylor out in front who posted 18 points. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Iyana Jones, who put up 17 points.

Evangel Christian Academy's record now sits at 0-10. As for Huntington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Evangel Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Natchitoches Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Huntington will square off against Captain Shreve at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Captain Shreve's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
