Softball Recap: North Monterey County Gets the Win

After losing to Gonzales the last time they met, North Monterey County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Condors came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 11-8 on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Condors.

The team relied heavily on Samantha Scharton, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Sofia Navarro was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-11. As for Gonzales, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, North Monterey County will head out to challenge Stevenson at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Condors are facing the Pirates at the right time seeing as the Pirates are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gonzales, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pajaro Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
