Baseball Recap: Valley Forge Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

Ian WALL was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Valley Forge Baptist Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. WALL was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

WALL wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Boyce, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Boyce is becoming a predictor of Valley Forge Baptist Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

Valley Forge Baptist Academy's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Alliance Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

While Valley Forge Baptist Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
