The EPIC Academy The Legends will head out on the road to face off against the Shepard Astros at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. EPIC Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 73-25, which was the final score in EPIC Academy's tilt against South Shore International on Tuesday.
Antwan Donley was EPIC Academy's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Shepard won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 69-48 defeat at the hands of Evergreen Park. While losing is never fun, Shepard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 588th, while Evergreen Park is ranked 147th).
EPIC Academy's defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Shepard, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.
EPIC Academy was taken down by Shepard 91-62 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can EPIC Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
