Baseball Recap: Rocky Grove Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Rocky Grove put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jamestown Muskies an 11-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Orioles considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Haydon Bevier made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Preston Keith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Rocky Grove is undefeated when Keith posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaac Grigsby, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Rocky Grove's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Jamestown, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Coming up, Rocky Grove will head out to challenge Maplewood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Orioles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
