Football Recap: Amherst County Comes Up Short

Amherst County lost against Heritage back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lancers were beaten by the Pioneers 49-14. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Amherst County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dasan Hall, Jamerson Daniel, and Chris Reed picked up one apiece. Daniel got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Amherst County and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Heritage, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Amherst County will venture away from home to face off against Glass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will be up against the Hilltoppers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Heritage, they will head out on the road to take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
