Soccer Recap: Willow Canyon Takes a Loss

Willow Canyon lost against Desert Mountain back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Willow Canyon Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Desert Mountain Wolves. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Wolves are ranked tenth).

Willow Canyon's goal came courtesy of Brynn Kelly, who's now up to 15 this season.

Willow Canyon now has a losing record at 4-5-1. As for Desert Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-2 record this season.

Willow Canyon didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Copper Canyon on the 10th. Desert Mountain has also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Chaparral on the 10th.
