Volleyball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport lost against Highlands back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Bluebirds. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Audrey Sorrentino was nothing short of spectacular for Highlands: she had 12 aces and four digs. Those 12 aces gave Sorrentino a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Gessner, who had six digs and six aces.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 4-23. As for Highlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Newport nor Highlands have any future games scheduled.
