Basketball Recap: Samuel Sandrin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lake Mead Christian Academy over Laughlin

Lake Mead Christian Academy was the 76-47 winner over Laughlin when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles fell 56-46 to the Laughlin Cougars on Saturday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Lake Mead Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Samuel Sandrin, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Trystan Rudd, who scored seven points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Lake Mead Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Laughlin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DaVinci Faccioli, who earned 12 points. Aidan Trinidad-Rodriguez was another key player, going 5 of 12 en route to 12 points and three steals.

Lake Mead Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Laughlin, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-5.

Lake Mead Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Adelson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Laughlin will be playing at home against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Laughlin likes a good challenge.
