El Modena dropped down to 4-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of the Tustin Tillers. The Vanguards were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.

Ethan Sorenson threw for 48 yards on six of 17 attempts. Jason Ramos was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards.

As for Tustin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. Considering they have won four contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Tustin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Edwards, who threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Edwards a new career-high in passer rating (163.2). Another receiver making a difference was Jeremiah Salvant, who gained 153 total yards and two touchdowns.

El Modena has already played their next game, a 30-14 loss against Capistrano Valley on the 23rd. As for Tustin, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-21 victory against Western on the 23rd.
