Basketball Game Preview: Paradise Honors Panthers vs. Greenway Demons

Paradise Honors is on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Greenway is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Paradise Honors Panthers will host the Greenway Demons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paradise Honors knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Greenway likes a good challenge.

Paradise Honors is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 81-15 win over Goldwater. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paradise Honors to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lizzy Guincho, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Guincho is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 15 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Van Dyke, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 17 points along with eight steals and five boards.

Paradise Honors smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Greenway earned a 51-38 victory over Thunderbird on Friday.

Greenway has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.2 points. As for Paradise Honors, their win bumped their record up to 15-4.

Everything went Paradise Honors' way against Greenway in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Paradise Honors made off with a 58-34 victory. Will Paradise Honors repeat their success, or does Greenway have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
