Soccer Recap: Serena Takes a Loss

Serena lost against LaSalle-Peru back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Huskers fell 3-1 to the Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, Serena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 365th, while LaSalle-Peru are ranked 170th).

Serena has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-3 record this season. As for LaSalle-Peru, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

Looking ahead, Serena will take on Illinois Math & Science Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Serena will be up against Illinois Math & Science Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.27 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for LaSalle-Peru, they will face off against Ottawa at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
