Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Catholic Lancers vs. Auburn Riverside Ravens

The Kennedy Catholic Lancers are taking a road trip to challenge the Auburn Riverside Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy Catholic has four straight victories, Auburn Riverside has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Kennedy Catholic will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Tahoma, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Kennedy Catholic came out on top against Tahoma by a score of 70-59 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Auburn Riverside came up short against Mt. Rainier on Friday and fell 62-54. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Rams are ranked 144th).

Kennedy Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Auburn Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.

Kennedy Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Auburn Riverside in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 58-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kennedy Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
