Volleyball Recap: Banneker Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Macarthur

Banneker faced MacArthur in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mammoths. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Mammoths when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Banneker was not able to win a set, but it sure wasn't from a lack of trying: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22.

Banneker moved to 4-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for MacArthur, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Banneker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Roosevelt on the 20th. As for MacArthur, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Eastern on the 20th.
