Soccer Game Preview: Verdugo Hills vs. Poly

Verdugo Hills is 0-9-1 against Poly since February of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Verdugo Hills Dons will square off against the Poly Parrots at 7:00 p.m.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Verdugo Hills turned things around against Arleta on Wednesday. Neither they nor the Mustangs could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Dons have been dealt a draw since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Poly made sure to put some goals up on the board against Monroe on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Vikings. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Parrots' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Verdugo Hills' draw gives them a new season record of 2-8-2. As for Poly, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-9-1.
