Preview: Avon Park Red Devils vs. LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls
Avon Park is 4-0 against LaBelle since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Avon Park Red Devils will look to defend their home field against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls at 7:30 p.m. The timing isn't great for Avon Park: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while LaBelle has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-13, which was the final score in Avon Park's tilt against Hardee on Friday. Avon Park was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.
The losing side was boosted by Jeran Jones, who picked up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, LaBelle came up short against St. Petersburg Catholic on Friday and fell 23-13.
Darian Robinson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped Avon Park to 0-7 and LaBelle to 5-2.
Avon Park was able to grind out a solid win over LaBelle when the teams last played back in October of 2022, winning 26-13. Will Avon Park repeat their success, or does LaBelle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
