Basketball Game Preview: Mullins Auctioneers vs. Kingstree Blazers

Mullins has gone 10-0 against Kingstree recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mullins Auctioneers will venture away from home to take on the Kingstree Blazers at 7:30 p.m. Mullins is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.6 points per game this season.

Mullins took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on East Clarendon with a sharp 66-42 win. The Auctioneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Mullins found their leader in sophomore Dakarai Worley, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Worley has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Amir Lee, who posted six points in addition to ten boards and four steals.

Mullins smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Kingstree came up short against Lamar on Thursday and fell 46-35.

Mullins' victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Kingstree, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Mullins skirted past Kingstree 60-57 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Kingstree's Micheal Kelly, who put up 17 points and seven rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Mullins to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
